Cervical Spinal Nerve Analgesia

Neck pain and cervicobrachialgia are very common conditions. In fact, most individuals will experience neck pain at least once in their life. Cervicobrachialgia is the pain radiating from the cervical region into the upper limb, in the area supplied by the affected spinal nerve root. Foraminal narrowing, spinal canal stenosis or cervical disc herniation, among others, may cause irritation or inflammation of the nerves as they leave the spine area. These conditions can be treated by analgesia and desensitization of the irritated spinal nerve root through repeated periradicular infiltration of a local anaesthetic to achieve permanent reduction of pain.
